We have another color challenge this week. While the colors are very fall oriented I did not want to create something with leaves (my go-to for Fall).
I purchased the Wondrous Wreath set last year and struggled with lining the leaves of the wreath up. I thought I would give it another try and I am so glad I did.
The key to the Wondrous Wreath and the coordinating framelits is aligning all the tabs for both cutting and stamping.
Cut out the center of the wreath first and then line up the first stamp (the one with the most leaves). I align the tabs at the top. Okay this part if had successfully accomplished in the past but the next part I did not get until I created this card.
When you go to use the second stamp (the one with less leaves) the leaves you are stamping will exactly overlay leaves already stamped. This was the part I was doing wrong, I kept thinking these leaves filled in between the leaves already stamped and they don't. AHA!
Then you stamp the berries. Again, lining up the tabs is what made all this work.
Cutting out the wreath is a piece of cake then.
Here are the PPA colors for this week that inspired my card...
I even added a bough of garland to the inside of my card. Now that I have this figured out I wanted to keep creating.
I am glad that I gave this stamp set another try. I really love this stamp set and the fact that Stampin' Up! has added additional stamp sets to coordinate with the framelits.
What stamp set has given you difficult in the past? Did this help you? I would love to hear from you.
