Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April where every day is Earth Day. This month we are showcasing projects that use recycled, reused or other earth inspired elements and colors. We hope you enjoy the Pals creative projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Kerry Willard Bray at Peonies and Paper Chains, number 17 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
As I create I often change my mind or decide not to use an element that I punched, cut out or stamped. These items are never tossed away instead they go into the scrap tray pictured below.
So for this project I decided to recycle my scraps. First I dumped all the scraps on my craft table.
Then I picked out a scrap that was a Deco Framelit cut out from a sheet of the All Abloom DSP paper stack. You can see it in the left hand corner above. My intention was to use this piece however it ended up just being the inspiration for the color palette. Here is the result...
With the exception of the Lost Lagoon Base all the pieces were scraps. The first layer in Natural White card stock. Then I have a 3 1/4" square piece of Lost Lagoon and a 3" square piece of Pistachio Pudding. I took a piece of Lost Lagoon Thick Bakers Twine from Sale-A-Bration and wrapped it around the base. It just fit so I hid the knot behind the medallion. The circle with the medallion embossed in silver was added with double stacked dimensional. A sweet stamped butterfly on Pear Pizzazz card stock was embellished with some Basic Jewel Rhinestones.
And inside a sweet sentiment from the Best Day Ever Sale-A-Bration stamp set.
I hope I inspired you to get out YOUR scraps and see what you can create!

I love seeing your scrap pile! It is so inspiring, and your cute card proves it! Do ou have a particular way of storing scraps? I keep mine in little recycled tubs from the deli section of the grocery store, but now when I see the beautiful array of color, I am wondering if I could be more creative by storing them together. Any suggestions ou have are much appreciated. Thanks!
