Stampin' Up's annual convention kicked off yesterday and I am saddened to not be in attendance. I am living vicariously through my fellow demonstrators sharing all the news and fun festivities. I saw photos of convention attendees paging through their copies of the upcoming Holiday Catalog that will be released in August.
In the meantime to whet our appetite Stampin Up released a Photopolymer Holiday stamp set called Christmas Bliss. I love the fonts on this set.
I ordered it immediately and could not wait to start playing. I have a couple of cards to share with you.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and the Seasons of Style DSP (Retired) from last holiday season adds the flair. The green accents and ink are the new green - Mossy Meadow. The green "pearls" in the upper right corner are Basic Pearl Jewels colored with Old Olive Dark Blendable pen. I was tickled with how they turned out; the perfect finishing touch.
I used Old Olive as the base for this card and created a Z fold for visual interest. [This is simply a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card and then the top flap is folded back to create the Z.] Using the Square Framelits (#4 and #5 from the center) I created the frame and then embossed the sentiment in Gold Emboss powder on a piece of Old Olive card stock. The edges of the Stampin' Dimensionals gave the frame the lift over the Old Olive layer.
The inside of the card has a coordinating "diamond" for the inside sentiment. The top diamond lays directly over the bottom diamond so you cannot see it exists until you lift the top diamond.
And here is the inside with the sentiment.
I know some of you may be shaking your heads saying NO Christmas in July. I get it, life is speeding by fast enough. I just really wanted to show off the new stamp set. If you are like me and want to get your hands on it right away too, click here and snatch one up for yourself. Last year the Endless Wishes Photopolymer set was sold out fast don't miss out.
I can't wait to see the new holiday catalog and all the new goodies. I have to believe there will be at least one star stamp set to coordinate with the Star Framelits in the annual catalog. What do you think we will see?
I hope you had fun with this post. I enjoyed bringing these cards to you.
