You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Wendy Klein at Doggone Delightful Stampin'on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
I LOVE this stamp. I love the chalk design and most of all I love the sentiment. I am fortunate enough to have a life long friend who truly knows EVERYTHING about me. We met our first day of high school and have best friends ever since. Life is richer and sweeter for me because she is part of it even though over a twelve hundred miles separate us. So this card will definitely be on its way to her.
Let's start with the colors of this card. The colors were inspired by the new Color Coach In-Color Cards. I love to use my color coach when I am stumped (sometimes too many choices actually makes it harder to decide what to do). The color palette is Lost Lagoon for the base of the card, followed by a layer of Pool Party and then Very Vanilla stamped in Pear Pizazz. This card was super easy to create with a few great Stampin' Up! tools.
I used the new Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions folder to create texture to the base of the card. This makes the background fun and whimsical. Then I stamped the Friend Who Know stamp in Pear Pizazz onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits. Then I took the next size up framelit and cut out a piece of Pool Party to create the additional frame for the stamped image. A few Stampin' Dimensionals and Basic Pearls strategically placed are the finishing touch.
Here's a close up:
Isn't it a great stamp!
One stampin' secret, make sure you "rough up" a large surface stamp like this. I have a sponge type tool I use. One side is like a fine grade of sandpaper and the other side is a soft smoothing surface. I know some people use a simple eraser from a pencil. The idea is to create some texture so the stamp will absorb the ink evenly.

Michelle your card is so nice. I love the polka dot background and strategically placed pearls. Thanks for the tip on roughing up the background. I didn't know that.
