Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge #181

I want thank Nina Dee for selecting my submission as her pick for the PPA Challenge #180. I am always honored to have my card chosed by one of these talented designers.

Where did my Mojo come from?

I wanted to use a fresh color combination. So I pulled out my Stampin' Up! Color Coach and flipped through looking for something that caught my eye. One of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors is Island Indigo so it is no surprise that I landed on a combination of Island Indigo, Baja Breeze (retired), and Rich Razzleberry. Despite the fact that Baja Breeze is retired I just had to go with the combination once I saw it.

My goal was to make a birthday card for a colleague with this sketch so I chose the Pretty Print Textured Embossing Folder from the holiday catalog to add a feminine flair.

Confession - I often get ahead of myself when creating a card. I excited about the creation and begin adhering my elements before I have really finished thinking through the card design. That happened here. I had added the Baja Breeze Seam Binding ribbon to the Rich Razzleberry card stock and mounted it with Stampin Dimensionals. Then I realized I needed a sentiment. Hmmm. So I carefully lifted the corner of the Rich Razzleberry, put a firm surface underneath it and stamped my sentiment from the Make A Wish stamp set. Although you can't really see it, I added Dazzling Diamonds to the flame of the Wish candle.

In the end, the color combination steals the show. Thanks to my Color Coach!
